All Western Red Cedar doors are supplied raw. They must be final sanded and sealed with a suitable exterior timber finish before installation. This is completed by others (your painter or finisher).
Marine Grade Ply doors are supplied raw and must be sanded and sealed before installation. Please refer to the timber maintenance and care guide for product-specific recommendations.
PVC doors can be left raw for a clean minimal look, or painted with an exterior acrylic. Only paints with a Light Reflective Value (LRV) of 50 or above are recommended. Dark colours should not be used on PVC exposed to sunlight.
Alipanel and Aluminium Batten doors require no sealing or painting. They are powder coated and ready to install. Periodic cleaning with mild soap and water is all that is required.
Cedar and ply are natural products. Colour, grain, and texture will vary between boards. This variation is a feature of the material, not a defect. Hand selection ensures consistent quality grade.
For properties in BAL-rated bushfire zones, consider the Alu Selekta Castellation Screenclad. This aluminium product is non-combustible and suitable for use in bushfire-prone areas.
